Drill Won't Turn On

There are many reasons that may prevent the drill from powering up. Here are some steps to follow to determine what the problem may be. 

• Check your battery. While BackBone makes some of the most powerful and longest-lasting batteries on the market, they do eventually wear out. A battery near the end of it's life will not hold as much power, and eventually won't hold enough energy to power up the drill at all. Swap it out for a fully charged battery. 
• Make sure the trigger lock is not engaged. The drill will not start when the trigger lock is engaged to prevent the tool from turning on unexpectedly. 

• While the battery is out of the drill, ensure that the chuck is not jammed by manually turning the chuck left and right by hand. 
• Checking the power switch to make sure there is no damage. Both heat and water can cause damage and result in a dead tool. To test the voltage on your tool, use a multi-meter to check if power is moving through each part of the tool. This may help you find the bad piece.

• Check brushes and springs. Dust and dirt will accumulate over time within a tool and can prevent a tool from working. Brush channels— enclosures consisting of brushes and springs located at the end of a motor where electricity is routed—can become worn and shorten over time. Check your brushes for wear and replace them accordingly.
